A2 Key / A2 Key for Schools (KET) EXAM
A2 Key (KET) is the first of the Cambridge English exams. It is available in a version for children and adolescents – A2 Key for Schools, and in a version for adults – A2 Key. The Key certificate is proof of English language proficiency at the A2 level according to the Council of Europe scale.

About the A2 Key for Schools / A2 Key (KET) Exam
- The Key exam is designed for individuals with an A2 proficiency level on the Council of Europe scale
- The Key exam tests basic language skills, e.g., understanding simple texts, the ability to use language in everyday situations, and understanding simple verbal instructions
Structure of the A2 Key (KET) Exam:
A2 Key consists of the following components:
- Reading & Writing: 60 minutes
- Listening: approximately 30 minutes
- Speaking: 12 minutes
The A2 Key (KET) exam is available in a version thematically adapted to the interests of school-age youth as A2 Key for Schools (KET for Schools).
